10 weeks and counting....

It has been a whirlwind of activity and events since heading back to work on April 20th. After the first week of work, Dennis and me drove to Nashville to see Dave Matthews Band. It was our solo trip without the kids as an early wedding anniversay gift to each other. Our norm each summer is to see DMB when they are on tour. Since being married we have only missed 2007 due to the closure of Starwood in Antioch, TN and the band playing no where near us. Needless to say, the show was awesome (as usual). The new material is great and I cannot wait to receive the delux album set Dennis pre-ordered for me for my Mother's Day gift! I even got a DMB shirt with an owl on it (yes, only few would be so excited about this and I know who you are!) As Dennis rolls his eyes and thinks.....another owl shirt; just what she needs. Oh well..

Lou had her 2 month appointment on May 1st. She got 3 shots and 1 oral vaccination. She cried and cried. Unlike Landon who let out a yelp and it was all over. It really seemed to bother her more. She is in the 5th percent for weight and the 50th percent for height. Maybe she won't end up with mommy's short gene afterall!

Lou has settled into her little routine. Meemaw (my mom) watches her each day unless daddy has the day off. He has been playing "mister mom" on Mondays until the end of May. He had extra vacation time to use before the end of the fiscal year. Dennis, Landon, and Lou came to St. Jude to have lunch with me which was really nice. Lou is sleeping through the night and has been doing so consistently since about 6 weeks or so. Thank goodness for that, because by the end of the day I am exhausted and need my sleep!

Baby Dedication at church was on Mother's Day which was very special. Lou looked adorable, of course (I am a little partial though). Lou has been cooing up a storm and "talking" as well. She also has been drooling and raking her tongue over her gums. I am guessing this is the beginning of teething? Landon began getting teeth at 3 months, so I guess it is not impossible. She hasn't been overly fussy, no fever. Maybe irritated, but that's all thus far. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it isn't too bad for us.

Lou is 10 weeks this week. Time is really flying even more than it did with Landon I think. I am looking forward to things to come with her. I am not wishing time away though! I am sure before we know it she will be a year old and I will be wondering where the time went and why I have so many more grey hairs.

Shhh! That's why I highlight my hair. Oh vanity......
